There was much excitement in Overland Park, KS when the City Council voted to allow high-speed Fiber. But residents will find Google Fiber delayed due to a minor technicality.
The council members may have become overly excited and rushed into the vote before considering all the agreements and concessions that would need to be made to accomplish the task. A date has been set for October 14th, 2013 to re-decide on the fate of Google Fiber in Overland Park.
The concern for this technicality seems to be for the sake of the citizens. The council does not want to give Google overbearing freedom to do as they will in the city, despite the incredible offer of hyper-internet speeds.
